Conservation must work in the real world.
The world wildlife inhabits is changing rapidly. Wild spaces are shrinking. Habitats are becoming fragmented. Animals are being displaced.
A problem this large demands ambitious new ideas and practical solutions.
Not just protecting nature.
Partnering with it.
Naturally Neighbours Initiative is building a modern conservation model focused on protecting wildlife, restoring natural spaces and creating lasting value for the people responsible for their future.
Land to life
Habitat restoration from degraded and underused land.
Shared Ground
Youth and community conservation education.
Science for Survival
Ethical, non-invasive wildlife research.
Balance by Design
Innovative, responsible wildlife management.
EVERY SPECIES MATTERS
Conservation should not be limited to the animals that attract the most attention.
Lions, cheetahs and other iconic species face serious and unique conservation threats. But so do servals, caracals, genets, reptiles, birds and countless other animals being displaced by an expanding human world.
NNI believes in doing what we can, wherever meaningful action is possible.
Sometimes that means addressing the complex future of a threatened species.
Sometimes it means giving one overlooked animal another chance in the wild.
Both matter.
OUR MISSION
Different problems need different solutions.
There is no single formula for conservation. Different species face different pressures. Different landscapes require different approaches. Solutions must consider the animal, the ecosystem and the people living alongside them.
OUR WORK IS FOCUSED ON:
- Ethical rescue, relocation and release
- Creating and protecting suitable wildlife spaces
- Responsible wildlife and population management
- Reducing conflict between people and wildlife
- Building partnerships with landowners
- Using the best available evidence to guide our decisions
- Collaborating with GomaWild to educate and engage global audiences
SUSTAINABILITY
Conservation must sustain itself
Conservation cannot rely on public generosity alone. Donations and sponsorships can make important work possible, but lasting conservation requires a model capable of creating its own value.
NNI wants to work with landowners and responsible partners to develop conservation landscapes that support wildlife while creating opportunities through tourism, education, employment, media and research.
Make protected land more valuable alive, functional and wild.
We are building a system in which protecting wildlife becomes more valuable than removing it.
LOOKING FORWARD
A new generation of conservation.
As NNI grows, we hope to create opportunities for young people and surrounding communities to experience conservation directly through education, training and skills development.
For now, it begins by sharing knowledge, involving people and building a conservation movement that the next generation will want to carry forward.
“Built honestly.”
NNI is still building. We will be clear about what we are doing now, what we can support and what we hope to achieve in the future.
We will share our progress, acknowledge our challenges and allow the work on the ground to speak for us.
Do not judge us by what we promise. Judge us by what we build.
OUR PARTNER
Goma Wild
Its content has reached millions of people around the world, using moments of discovery, behaviour and connection not only to inspire, but to teach.
Goma Wild exists to bring people closer to the animals at the heart of conservation and help the world understand why their future matters.
Where Our Paths Became One
SHARE THE VISION
A huge problem needs big ideas.
The future of conservation will require open minds, new partnerships and people willing to challenge outdated thinking.
Support the work. Share the message. Start conversations. Connect us with landowners, researchers, businesses and organisations that believe something better can be built.
We act on what we can change today. We build for what wildlife will need tomorrow. Practical action. Ambitious thinking. A future built for wildlife.
